The Ghana Armed Forces has extended the deadline for its ongoing recruitment exercise by one week following technical challenges on its online recruitment portal.
In a statement released in Accra on October 31, 2025, the Department of Public Relations at the General Headquarters, Burma Camp, announced that the deadline for the Ghana Armed Forces recruitment has been extended to November 7, 2025.
According to the release, the extension became necessary following technical difficulties experienced on the recruitment portal during the initial phase of the exercise.
The statement, signed by Colonel Evelyn Ntiamoah Asamoah, Acting Director General of Public Relations of the Ghana Armed Forces, expressed regret for any inconvenience caused and urged applicants and the general public to remain patient and cooperative.
The recruitment, which started on October 1, 2025, includes registration and verification activities at centres across all 16 regional capitals. It forms part of a broader government initiative to recruit about 12,000 personnel into the Army, Navy, and Air Force over the next three years.
Prospective applicants are required to obtain an electronic recruitment voucher for GH¢200 from selected Ghana Post offices before accessing the official portal at apply.mil.gh. Eligible candidates must be Ghanaian citizens by birth, of good character, and aged 18 to 25 years for non-tradesmen or up to 27 years for tradesmen.
The Armed Forces further warned the public about fraudulent recruitment links circulating on social media platforms such as WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram, emphasizing that official updates are published only in the Daily Graphic and Ghanaian Times newspapers.
In a related development, the Cyber Security Authority reported identifying 86 fake social media accounts impersonating the Armed Forces and engaging in recruitment scams within just one week.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Minister of Defence, Mr. Brogya Genfi, reiterated that recruitment into the Ghana Armed Forces is free of charge, transparent, and based solely on merit.
Applicants now have until November 7, 2025, to complete and submit their applications via the official portal.
