Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson declared that fiscal discipline and integrity will remain the cornerstone of Ghana’s economic recovery, warning that “never again must we allow recklessness, waste and indiscipline to define how we handle the people’s money.”

He made these remarks while presenting the 2026 Budget Statement and Economic Policy of Government for the year ending 31 December 2026, in Parliament on Thursday, November 13.

He described the budget as a decisive shift from recovery to transformation, marking a new phase in President John Dramani Mahama’s reset agenda to rebuild the economy on principles of responsibility, productivity, and shared prosperity.

“Mr Speaker, there is no shortcut for responsible economic management. Never again must we allow recklessness, waste and indiscipline to define how we handle the people’s money,” he said.
