Professor Isaac Boadi, Dean of the Faculty of Accounting and Finance at the University of Professional Studies, has expressed deep concern over the lack of clarity surrounding the government’s flagship initiatives, the Big Push and the 24-Hour Economy.
Speaking during a panel discussion on Peace FM’s morning show Kokrokoo, Professor Boadi described the policies as promising on paper but confusing in practice.
“My biggest worry is the Big Push and the 24-Hour Economy…Today it’s the 24-Hour Economy, tomorrow it’s 1:3:3; like a football formation. We were initially told the 24-Hour Economy would require GH¢4 billion, but now the figure being quoted is GH¢110 million. Which is it?” he asked.
Big Push
He criticized the 2026 budget for failing to provide a cost estimate for the Big Push initiative, questioning its financial transparency and strategic direction.
Professor Boadi also called for clarity on the nature of the Big Push, asking whether it is a public-private partnership (PPP) or a fully government-funded program.
“There shouldn’t be any ambiguity when it comes to national policies,” he emphasized.
“Clear, consistent communication is essential for public trust and effective implementation,” he added.
