Ghanaian highlife musician Kofi Kinaata has revealed that Kumasi has become one of his strongest markets after receiving public praise from Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
In an interview with NY DJ on BTM Afrika, Kinaata explained that the Asantehene’s recognition had a major impact on his career, leading to an increase in streaming numbers, social media followers, and corporate event bookings. He added that Kumasi has now become a major hotspot for his music.
The Asantehene publicly mentioned Kinaata’s popular song Susuka during a Ghana Bar Association event in September 2024. He commended the song’s message of appreciation and wisdom and encouraged Ghanaians to embrace gratitude and contentment through music that reflects their culture and values.
Kinaata expressed his appreciation for the endorsement and said it has deepened his connection with fans in the Ashanti Region.
