“Dismissed Jakpa Has No Place in National Security Operations” — Dr. Boakye Danquah

Dr. Boakye Danquah, former official and commentator, has asserted that dismissed National Security operative Richard Jakpa should be excluded from any further involvement in national security duties following his controversial history.

In statements to the press, Dr. Danquah argued that Jakpa’s previous conduct disqualifies him from holding sensitive positions in security operations. “Given his track record, trust is compromised,” he said, calling for full accountability and stricter vetting processes in national security appointments.

Jakpa, once a high-ranking official at the National Security Council, was embroiled in past allegations surrounding the ambulance procurement scandal. Though those charges have undergone legal review, critics like Dr. Danquah maintain that the cloud over his reputation remains a serious liability for national security.

“When trust is lost, especially in matters of state protection, one cannot simply resume duties without thoroughly regaining public confidence,” Dr. Danquah emphasized.

He also urged the government and security agencies to adopt transparent measures and institutional reforms to prevent recurrence of improper conduct. He called for an empowered oversight body to monitor security appointments and ensure that individuals implicated in misconduct are held to higher scrutiny.

As debates flare over Jakpa’s future in national security, many observers believe the issue strikes at the heart of public confidence in Ghana’s security architecture. Prekeh Media will continue tracking developments and any response from Jakpa or official security agencies.
