Galamsey: What Happened To Kabila After Eating Contaminated Kontomire

Political activist James Kwabena Bonfeh, widely known as Kabila, has shared a troubling personal experience that he believes is linked to the growing environmental impact of illegal mining (galamsey) in Ghana.

Speaking on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo morning show, Kabila revealed that he suffered a stomach upset after eating kontomire (cocoyam leaves) stew, a popular local delicacy. He suspects the vegetables were contaminated, possibly due to mercury pollution in the water used for irrigation
