The High Court judge presiding over the legal dispute concerning the funeral arrangements of late highlife legend Daddy Lumba has strongly advised the involved parties to seek an out-of-court settlement.
In a proceeding monitored by Prekehmedia.com, Her Ladyship Justice Mrs. Dorinda Arthur expressed dissatisfaction with the case being brought to court, stating that the late musician, having projected Ghana globally, is a “national asset and a global icon.”
According to the plaintiff’s counsel, William Kusi Esq., who spoke in an exclusive interview on Peace FM, the judge allowed both the plaintiff, Akosua Serwaa Fosu (Daddy Lumba’s first wife), and the defendant, Charles Kwadwo Fosu (the family head), to state their cases.
Justice Arthur then advised the family to take the matter home and resolve it amicably, noting that this would be preferable to a court ruling. She indicated that if they insist on a court resolution, she will take the time needed to ensure a fair ruling, though she will strive to resolve it in time for the scheduled burial on December 6, 2025.

The judge’s recommendation aims to preserve the dignity of the late icon and ensure his funeral proceeds as planned, without the strain and publicity of a prolonged court battle.
