Sampa: Police stage ‘show of force’ to assure residents of maximum security

The Bono Regional Police Command on Saturday, 11 October 2025, mounted a high-visibility security operation dubbed “Show of Force” through the principal streets of Sampa to boost public confidence and assure residents of maximum protection.

This comes on the back of recent violent clashes between two rival groups at Sampa in the Bono Region, which left about eight officers injured.

Led by the Deputy Regional Commander, a team of operational police personnel paraded through major routes in and around the town between 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. The exercise formed part of efforts to enhance community safety and deter criminal activity.

The police say the operation is a proactive measure to maintain law and order while demonstrating their preparedness to respond swiftly to any security threat.

Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, Public Relations Officer of the Bono Regional Police Command, said the exercise was aimed at reassuring the public, particularly traders and market women, of their safety.

“The Police is urging market women not to be afraid to visit the market, as their safety is assured,” he stated.

He further encouraged the public to cooperate with the security agencies and promptly report any suspicious activity.

The Ghana Police Service has in recent months intensified visibility operations across the country in a renewed push to boost public confidence and maintain peace in communities.
