Majority Leader and Builsa North MP James Agalga has urged members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) not to let rivalry in the NDC constituency elections undermine the party’s preparations for the 2028 general elections.
He made the appeal ahead of Saturday’s polls on October 24.
Mr Agalga urged candidates and their supporters to put the party’s collective interest above individual ambitions.
He stressed that the elections are an important part of building the party’s grassroots leadership. However, he said members must show restraint in their campaigns and avoid personal attacks that could create divisions.
“We all have a stake in the 2028 journey. Let us not undermine that future in our quest to serve the Party today,” he said.
He also called for peaceful engagements throughout the process and urged members to show unity, love and respect in their interactions. He said the process should be free from insults and character assassination, and that the outcome should leave the NDC stronger and more united.
The Majority Leader wished all aspirants well. He expressed hope that the elections would be conducted peacefully and that the best candidates would win.
