ALAN’S MOVEMENT FOR CHANGE REBRANDS AS UNITED PARTY (UP PLUS)

The newly registered political party pledges a “new dawn” focused on economic transformation, zero tolerance for corruption, and moving beyond the winner-takes-all system.

The political movement founded by former Trade Minister Alan Kyerematen has officially been rebranded as the United Party (UP Plus), marking a strategic shift and invoking a name with deep roots in Ghana’s political history.

The new identity was unveiled at a ceremony where party leaders outlined a vision centered on credible leadership, good governance, and national transformation.

Party Chairman Abubakar Saddique Boniface emphasized that UP Plus is not just a name change but a commitment to a new kind of politics. “We are not just taking people to lead us, but people who are credible, competent, and have a vision,” he stated.

Founder and leader Alan Kyerematen described the rebranding as a “new dawn” for Ghana, outlining key pillars of the party’s agenda. These include driving economic transformation to create jobs, promoting accountable governance with zero tolerance for corruption, and mobilizing all Ghanaians regardless of age, ethnicity, or political affiliation.

The party received its official certificate of registration from the Electoral Commission on October 3, 2025, formally establishing UP Plus as a recognized political entity in Ghana.
