Veteran traditional musician, King Ayisoba has said he deserves to be honoured with a diplomatic passport just as was done for some five creatives.
In an interview with broadcaster, Kafui Dey with snippet shared via X on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, the ‘I Want To See You My Father’ hitmaker noted considering his commitment and promotion of Ghanaian traditional songs globally, he believes same recognition should be extended to him.
However, he noted that he is not bothered by the recognition given to those who received the diplomatic passports, acknowledging that they have all contributed to promoting Ghana globally in their various fields.
“For me, the people who received the diplomatic passports, I cannot say they don’t deserve it. Because Rocky Dawuni has worked hard. It is not easy to be nominated for Grammy so he deserves it.
“But I hope they will also think about me because when it comes to Ghanaian music traditions, if they will be truthful, I’m one of the best,” King Ayisoba said.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, announced the diplomatic passports for the five creatives, noting that their individual works have promoted the unity of African people around the world, hence the recognition to aid them to do more.
