STEPHEN APPIAH’S WORDS HURT ME SO MUCH – Grace Ashley reveals

Grace Ashley, a well-known Ghanaian gospel singer and the acclaimed author of multiple Black Stars anthems, has spoken up about a very painful event that forced her to cease writing songs for Ghana’s national football teams.

Grace Ashley described how a comment made by former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah crushed her desire and drive to compose music for the national team in an exclusive conversation with ZionFelix.

Stephen Appiah, the hitmaker of “Black Stars Songs,” reportedly warned her rather frankly to quit writing songs for the group if she wasn’t getting compensated.

The insult broke Grace Ashley’s heart, she said, and she described it as very painful and depressing.

“Stephen Appiah told me point-blank that if I wasn’t getting paid for the songs, I should stop composing them. Those words hurt me so much, and that’s the reason I decided not to do any more songs for the Black Stars,” she revealed.

The gospel singer claimed that she had always written the songs out of love for Ghana and not for financial gain. She became well-known for her patriotic and inspirational songs that galvanised support for Ghana during important tournaments.
