Kobby Amoah Insists Ken Agyapong Did Not Insult Akufo-Addo in ‘Kofi Job’ Video

Lawyer Kobby Amoah, has dismissed reports suggesting that Mr. Agyapong insulted President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in a viral video known online as the “Kofi Job” clip.

Speaking in an interview on Kasapa FM’s Ghana Kasa program, Amoah said the video making rounds on social media was heavily edited and taken out of context to tarnish the Assin Central MP’s reputation. According to him, the controversial remarks attributed to Agyapong were not his own words but a quotation from a contractor who had previously criticized the President.

“Ken was quoting someone else to make a point about unfair treatment in contract awards. Those words were not directed at the President,” Amoah explained.

He stressed that Mr. Agyapong was merely referencing complaints made by some contractors about favoritism in government projects — particularly the perception that certain individuals aligned with the opposition NDC received preferential treatment.

Amoah also accused some media outlets and political opponents of deliberately twisting the video to stir controversy ahead of the NPP’s presidential primaries. He called on party members and the public to verify information before passing judgment.

The viral video had sparked widespread criticism on social media, with some accusing Agyapong of disrespecting the President. However, supporters of the outspoken lawmaker insist that the video was manipulated to undermine his campaign.

As of publication, Mr. Agyapong himself has not publicly commented on the issue. Political observers note that this controversy could add new tension to the NPP’s internal race as delegates prepare for the next round of voting.
